Massilia Sun Ball and beach sports in general

Sandball is a variant of Handball, but is played on the beach. I propose you to watch a video which present this new sport:

Sandball waq born in 1995. Even if this sport has more and more players, it’s not a competition sport, it wants to in a spirit of fair play.

The field

The ground divides in an area of game reserved for the players of fields and being 15 metres long on 12 in 14 metres in width, and two zones 6 metres long on 12 in 14 metres wide, reserved for the goal keepers. An inflatable cage of 3 metres on 2 is placed in each of the zones.

The team

Every team consists of seven players: a goal keeper, three players of fields and three replacements. The replacements are, quite as in the Handball, unlimited. The players are necessarily barefoot or in socks.

The game

It’s divided in two parts of seven minutes, and the score is being put to zero at the beginning of each part.

Contacts between players are forbidden, an aligned defense is also forbidden.

The score

One points for a simple goal, two for a kung-fu goal (see the video, it’s a suspension shoot) or a figure of style.
